I'll happily write up an adventure, as my own game doesn't seem to be getting any more players any time soon, i'll just need to know what type of rules will be used, or if we'll work it out here?

the epic continues...
I'm all for hashing it out here.
By the by -- did everyone see that Elder Scrolls is putting out a new installment?

Skyrim?
Yeah, I heard. I'm not enthused about a few of the things I've heard, such as removing yet more skills and setting it in Skyrim, but some other aspects I'm looking forward to see. Dual-wielding is being brought back from all the way since Daggerfall, true dragons will finally be seen...
I'd like to see a bit of gameplay footage, though. ^^'

Agghhh....
WHY remove even more skills? Oblivion was a cakewalk compared to Morrowind because it was too easy to be good at everything when the skill selection was knocked down. Now they're making it EASIER? Disappointing...
However, dragons shall be interesting. It'll be neat to see a new domain.

They removed Mysticism, which in Oblivion was useful for about one spell, and moved all those spells into different schools. I beleive they also combined athletics/acrobatics into one skill.
The list of improvements far outways any concerns about skill reduction. Especially if thats all I am losing.

Sure, it wasn't helpful, but why not just improve/reinvent it?
They're definetly removing more than just Mystiscism, from the information released, though that is for sure the only confirmed skill I know of that they're dropping.
As for Mysticism...well, it was incredibly useful in Morrowind up to a point, for the various teleportation spells, but became largely useless after a certain level where you have 100% spell chance anyway. Then in Oblivion it became more or less pointless, useful only as an alternative to having Telekinesis potions on the rare occasion you need such an effect, or if you're at the start of the game and have no enchanted weapon to Soultrap enemies yet.
And I suppose Life Detection. That was Mysticism, wasn't it?
But I still don't like just having it removed. I suppose for Lore reasons, more or less, just suddenly having a whole school of magic disappear like, well, magic. Surely they could've simply got more uses for it, re-design teleport spells somehow (Short-distance teleports, combat uses...), or re-design the variety of detection spells from Morrowind, such as Detect Key and Detect Enchantment (adaptations could make Mysticism a valid skill to gather rare treature with or find hidden and secret areas).
