D20 Modern Zombie Adventure

I have just recently made a series of rules for my own campaign modual for d20 modern based on the whole "Zombie Survival" simulation.

Alack and alas, I am unable to imagine any unique/outstanding scenarios/environments to use in this campaign of mine.

Anyone got some ideas on place/objectives/twists/etc. that I could use to get my players to ward off the undead menace? Also know this: players will/may also need to fight of living things too such as gangs.

comet

Radiation from an orbiting comet raises the dead from graves every night.

Twist: The comet is in a decaying orbit so as people have to fight off zombies, they also have to figure out how to destroy the comet before it slams into Earth.

Oh, and electromagnetic pulses from the comet black out entire cities and wipe hard drives clean as particular areas of the Earth face the comet.

There! I gave you quite a bit to go on. If you use it, I'd like some credit.

underwater

Go underwater. It's the year 2040 and zombies have been walking the earth for many years now. People live in secure clusters all over the earth's remote places. Your players happen to live in an underwater city/building-complex.

But, you know... zombies don't have to breathe, so they find the city eventually.

Now players won't only have to face zombies, but also risk drowning, flee a giant octopus and an army of undead anemone. The goal is to safely reach the surface world, and find a new place of shelter.

good one Almerin

I would have never thought of underwater, but I should have considering the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

ZomberOrcs

If a zombie chomps on an Orc, then the resultant product must be a "ZombOrc". Don't ya suppose?

Y'know...

...I just happened to think; "What if something happened on the international space station and the latest group of astronauts sent up were met by zombies when they arrived?"

*shrugs*

WWR

I always thought a group of white water rafters, out on an excursion, take a wrong turn and have to go the Long way home. Then you have the surprise factor of zombies in wilderness, the hardship of getting home, the not knowing what is home to go to, and the using of white water as a defence.

O.O

Thanks, Al... Now I'll be thinking about that the next time I shoot the rapids up home!

"What's with the shotgun, honey?"

"Oh... you know... just in case there's a zombie at the end of this white water, dear... You never know..."

Great idea, though...

Zombies? Zombies are as real as Clinton

You know I've been working a Zombie Campaign myself, it's been in the works for the past three years and so far I have gotten no where. But mine does start on a cruise liner that was attacked by an infected passenger. I would love to hear what you have done so far, and I will be more than willing to exchange ideas.

Nice Ideas!

I reall like the idea of the rafters... or anything in the wilderness would be neat, kind of a classic horror film motiff too, which can always be fun.

I guess your system is probably more modern d20, but I've always been a big fan of historical settings.

You could do Roanoke (so that's where everyone went)... or perhaps a western mining town (Donnor Party anyone?)... maybe something during the Civil War (was that the real reason for Sherman's March to the Sea?)...

And that's just what I've come up with American History at the moment.

M.

Western Zombies

Ah I love the idea of Western Zombies, and it is easy to get off the ground. I did a short zombie adventure in a western style town, but it stopped half way through when one of my players decided to start killing everyone and stopped playing the moment I started making it hard on him.
