Loaded Dice #64: the Final Battle (Part Four)

Yep, here we are, a little late in the day, but still on schedule with part four of the final battle.

As I mention in my notes for this strip, the actual tabletop session that this story arc is based off of ended up the same way - literally coming down to one final roll of the dice. How will it turn out?

You'll have to wait until we print the next strip, of course!

If you enjoy Loaded Dice, please do vote this strip up at reddit... that always brings in new eyeballs for the strip.

And of course, please share your thoughts and opinions here!

Ack!

Cliffhanger!

Anyone else hear the ominous "Dun-dundun-duuuuuuun" that followed that "Roll for initiative" bit?

I can't wait!!!!

The obese opera star is warming up. . .

I only hear the screams of players who have defeated themselves in their own minds! Mwu-ha-ha-haaa!

Ray's jawline was a little off in panel 2, but the detail on his upraised hand--fabulous! Thanks vybeosa for putting in the dice and sheets on the table, my eyes bugged to see Steve was only one away from a crit (Back in the day, kiddies, we didn't confirm crits. It was or it wasn't.) ! The Ice Haunt rolls 2d10 for a gutpunch/backhand?? No wonder Jhim and company always look that way.

Like our esteemed leader, it took a minute or two for the forced perspective shot of Steve to register, but when it did I found it to be a terrific concept! The Dungeon Master, literally looming large over his domain, Lord of the Dice, Emir of XP, Monsignor of Monsters. . .sweet!

These last few strips have been both wonderfully exciting reads and on time. Mega-Kudos to you both!!

cliffhanger!

In the words of Scotty in the newest star trek film, "This is all very exciting!"

page 64

I need practice with that forced perspective, I'll get it better next time I feel like I'll get plenty of opportunities, Steve likes to scare his players.
And I'm getting better at defining (remembering to define?) the context, thus dice and papers added. Who knows, next chapter, the players might even be bringing food around.

Anyway, thank you

Mmmm. Yes, maybe food too. I wonder what time of night it is in the strip?

time?

They started gaming after nine PM. Ignore the clocks after that - looks like we had fairly random times placed on them.

The entire session has been played in one sitting (everyone has the same clothes on). I'd say that it's after one AM at this point, if not later.

cool

Wondering if the total evilness of the DM will not extend to the fact that this adventure will end with a total party kill. THAT would be unexpected.

But it would give Brad the time to go to the doctor and get his wrist un-reversed (panel 4).

qwerty

Ummmm, err *thinks quickly* Brad is actually half-Rakshasa! Yeah, that's the ticket.

It's gut-check time, Amy! Get initiative and roll that big 2-0!

actually

It's drawn very well. If it wasn't the wrong angle, it would be really good.
