Interesting :)

I like it, I actually just started singing it after reading it. I never do that, btw, this would make a good song as well.

Reserved for thoughts...incomplete

So I've actually a bunch of responses set up for this. Mostly because they correspond to different outlooks/moods I've had when reading it and trying to structure a response.

First of all, the fact that it can summon up such different feeling is great. As to what they are... I've hit some phrasing issues, so ...here is an attempt to harness them:

(Gamer/geek response) Since no one else will mention it, I had a personal little geek fit over the title of the poem, and the scene described. During one reading, to which I had returned to the inn after reading some Lovecraftian works, I began to link themes to The King in Yellow. It amused me to no end, but this little thought does not diminish the feelings within the poem.

(Dark-place response) I've been through a patch of darkness the Inn has saved me from, but this work did cause me to reflect upon it. Essentially, I looked back at the beginning of what happened and remembered the build up before everything went amiss and fell apart. ...I find I place my previous relationship as the 'theatre'. Certainly there are wounds that are left open, but the reflection stimulated by the piece actually helped me come to terms with quite a few things.

(Good mood response) There are times when I read over it and can feel a sense of the unstable, of ...dramatic irony ^_^. Understanding the stage and feeling of the environment in particular, there are elements that truly reach out and grab the reader's attention into a situation that is dire, but at the same time strangely amusing. At other times I can relate the entire poem to the constant situation that is RL, as sadistic as that might sound, aha. It's fun and thought provoking.

I enjoy this piece quite a lot. Thank you Chess.
