So yeah, the Facebook AFD joke got me hard, and I pulled this down. Here it is again, if anyone cares to look.

To the east, a light so bright
It sears the eyes closed
So bright, this light
That none will look at it

I can look at the light
I see the light waning
Artificially bright
Hiding in its own radiance

To the west, a darkness so dim
That the eye shuts in fear
So dim, this dark
That none will face it

I see life through a veil of shadows
I can face the dark
I can see it for what it is
Feeding on fear
While hiding within itself

Between the east and the west
Light and darkness collide
Denizens of the light fighting dark
Creatures of the dark fighting light
Never seeing that in truth, they are all gray

But I see life through a veil of shadow
Each being for what it is
For the only difference between living
In the light or the dark
Is the shade of gray
That you take in between
