Games via Skype

I'm curious if anyone ever DMed or played in a game by Skype? Or, used one of those tools out there such as MapTool or OpenRPG?

If so, do you think it worked well?

Ah...

It wasn't really an offer to run such a game. I'm merely enquiring what people's experiences have been.

Although don't let me stop you if you want to run a game via Skype.

D20pro for the win!!!!

Lov3 my D20pro. players can play for free and DMs pay a 1 time price of 20 dollars for a license. ONE TIME, NEVER EXPIRES! Upload any map, avatar for "minis", includes realistinc dice rolls, and computes almost everything. Table top style playing made easy. Supports many editions and styles of play and allows the possibility for house or custom rules. Works well with Skype and Ventrillo.

Funny you should ask...

I recently DMed a game where on of my players had his wisdom teeth taken out and couldn't join us on person, so we did a skype video chat to him while the rest of us were in person, and it worked surprisingly well. We had to point the camera at the map every now and then, but it worked totally fine for RPing and explanation. It was sweet.

Also, Tiamat, does d20 pro work with 4e?
