Necessary Evil

Episode One - JAIL BREAK!
[0800 hours. January 1st 2031]

At some point in the last two days, the Aliens slapped you in irons. Nullifiers, to be precise. You where wreaking havoc in Star City when the aliens performed one of their random sweeps. Some of you where spotted by blind luck, the others ratted out by someone who's got a very bad day heading for them in the near future.
You where transferred from one holding cell to another, and finally put onto this M'buna, a weird alien transport ship that's currently traveling down Central Avenue. Most likely, they're heading for one of the big Man O' Wars to take you off world. Rumour has it they like to dissect those with super-powers to 'see what makes 'em tick'.
At least you won't suffer alone. There are a few other capes in here as well. Some you recognize, some you don't. You're all in the same boat now.

Hawk
Brilliant. Just brilliant. He knew it was a stupid Idea. He knew he shouldn't have gone for the officer without more preparation. He let vengeance cloud his judgement, and now he was stuck on this godforsaken vessel heading to god knows where to have who knows what done to him. He sat, arms bound in front of him by the Nullifiers, looking at the people around him. He was stuck in a cell with some pretty low-down people. He recognized the ugly face of Famine. 'Lord of Decay they called him; I guess they're talking about his face.' he thought to himself. It looked as though someone has forced his head onto a stove or something. Next to him was a woman he didn't recognize. She was the least calm of the 4 people here. Shifting side to side, nervously eyeing all of them. She was the odd one out, that's for sure. Finally, there was the man they called 'The swordsman'. Everyone knew who he was. He was practically the first human to display super powers. ''So, if me, Famine and The Swordsman are here, it makes sense that this woman has powers too. I wonder what.' He thought, eyeing her once again...

Phoenix
Why did the aliens have to come to the hospital just at that moment?! If they had waited just 5 more minutes she would have finished the procedure and saved that man's life. Now she was stuck on a M'Buna, heading for some far off place in a cell with 4 people who would happily kill her in a heartbeat if they weren't all in cuffs like she was. She didn't even have any offensive powers! She couldn't understand why the aliens even wanted her. She shifted nervously on her seat, looking at the faces of each of the people in the cell with her. First there was Famine next to her. He looked a wreak with his face all messed up and decaying like it was. Across from her was Hawk, and he kept looking at her, she wasn't sure why... and finally there was the Swordsman, sat on the floor in the corner of the room. She knew them all, and knew that this was a bad place to be...

Famine
This was it. He was going to die having accomplished nothing . He couldn't believe his luck, he was attacking an alien strike force, and doing well at that. He was surrounded with piles of soggy alien goo when all of a sudden he felt a sharp pain in his side. Nullifier dart he thought instantly and cursed himself for not paying more attention. Now he was stuck with 3 others suckers without a hope in hell of escaping. He didn't know, or want to know the identity of those with him except the the enigmatic Swordsman. Hell, it didn't even matter. He had given up by now, he lost all meaning in life and now was being herded to his death. 'Game over' he thought. 'better luck next time.'.

The Swordsman
This was not the peace he wanted. Looking around he saw the faces of people he didn't know and heard the sounds of technology he didn't understand. Nothing around him made sense. When he was captured, he was beaten up as well, and none of the wounds were healing. He blamed the strange metal things that were attached to his arms. He knew this was the last journey he would ever make. He knew there was nothing that he could do that could change fate now; and as he sat in the corner of the room, eyes shut and contemplating how he could've changed, he made peace with the world and accepted his death drew near.

Suddenly the M'buna flies into the air! It flips end over end, sending you tumbling into the other captives. The world is a jumble of colour and cursing before you finally come to rest. The M'buna is ripped wide open ans you can see blood and smoke everywhere. A massive explosion rocks the wreck, killing the fin guards as they stagger forth. You're stunned, trying to regain your senses but the Nullifiers keep you weak and useless.
Then a familiar figure strides through the smoke holding a massive gun. There can be no mistaking the form of Earths most powerful super villain - Dr.Destruction!
''You want to live?'' Destruction asks.

Hawk
This situation annoyed him greatly, being stuck with 3 people who wouldn't hesitate to kill him at a moments notice. If it wasn't for these damn nullifiers...
The the world was a mosaic of colour and sounds. He was vaguely aware of being flung like a ragdoll into the walls, floor and other occupants of his cell. The woman's screaming didn't help either. ''SHUT THE HELL UP WOMAN'' He shouted. When the ship finally righted itself, he attempted to pick himself up. He was groggy and disoriented but was aware of a black figure standing at the cell door. Upon being asked the question he just nodded dumbly and stumbled forward.

Phoenix
Fear filled her as the other prisoners eyed her up and glared at her. I suppose she was the odd one out in this situation. She was about to ask why they kept looking at her when the world around her fell apart. She screamed as she was tossed around the cell and flinched every time she came into contact with Famine. When she heard one of them shout she stopped her screaming and instead just resolved herself to moan with pain. When the world stopped spinning she looked in horror at the man who stood at the gates. The worlds most powerful villain. Out of pure fear she said yes in a quiet voice, and shuffled backwards into the corner.

Famine
Famine was locked in self pity, he didn't want to communicate with anyone. As far as he was concerned, he was dead already. When the world shook and took him with it he didn't care. The screaming didn't bother him, nor did the pain. He just wished that this would be a quick death. He hardly contained a disappointed sigh when the ship righted itself and he wasn't killed. However, he felt his confidence grow, and he knew he had a second chance when Dr.D asked him that fateful question. ''Yes.'' He answered.

The Swordsman
The silence of the cell suited him just fine. He didn't want to have to deal with social situations now. The buzz of the M'buna's engines helped him meditate. However, what didn't help mediation was being flung around like clothes in a washer. He was tossed into walls and cuts and bruises being made on his body. He looked at them in contempt. Thanks to these aliens he could now be wounded. When the world settled he began awkwardly rubbing the blood that was seeping from a wound in his leg. When the question was asked he simply nodded in agreement.

Six green clad people in masks break through the cell and yank you all up and drag you to an antigrav transport waiting next to the hole made by Dr.Destruction. the transport zips away just as a K'tharen strike team arrives to grab any remaining prisoners. As you travel north Dr.Destruction begins to explain himself. ''You might think I rescued you because I’m in awe of your amazing powers. You’d be wrong. You can all be cut into flank steaks on a V’sori examination table for all I care. ''No, I rescued you for two reasons. The first is because it draws the fins away from my real target. The second is because I can always use a new Omega cell. If you want in, and can prove yourself to me tonight, you’re in. If you’re not interested…well, let’s just say you will be.'' At that, Dr. Destruction slams a button on the wall. The back hatch opens, and each of you
plummets out of the carrier and into the darkness below.

"You’ve got precious few seconds before you hit the ground. Since I’ve touched each of you, I can now communicate telepathically at the speed of thought. One of your few seconds will be gone by the time I finish my offer. I suggest you think fast."
"There’s a prisoner in the holding pens named Mindjack. You might have heard of him—he pulled the Amij Diamond job last
summer. He’s in there somewhere, and I want him. If you agree to break him out and bring him to the center of the camp ALIVE—I’ll bust open your nullifiers so you can survive the fall. If you tell me to go stuff myself, I can only say that I hope you hit a Fin on your way down."
"Find Mindjack, bring him to the center of camp. I’ll pick those who survive up after I deal with any remaining V’sori that fly in. It won’t end there though. I can find you wherever you go now. I can help you and show you how we can defeat the invaders who took over our playground, or I can point you out to them like wounded prey to a hound. It’s your choice."

"You have 7 seconds."

Hawk
He didn't like Dr.Destruction's cocky tone. That was he lorded it over him and the other 3. Surely he knew that they combined could kill him, but because of these damn Nullifers they had to sit and listen like dumb animals. When the minions slapped the clay like substance on his wrists he knew what was planned. He just hoped there wasn't enough to blow his hand off. Then, when the floor fell from beneath him the shock of it took the air out of his lungs. He was aware that Dr.Destruction had practically made a speech in a second using telepathy. 'Impressive' he thought, before looking at the rapidly approaching ground and screaming 'I'm in'' at the top of his lungs.

Phoenix
The first think she thought was that she owed this villain her life. Then she realized what that actually meant. She was a nobody in a group of villains. Hawk, the super assassin, Famine the lord of Decay, The Swordsman who kills anyone who doesn't allow him his peace and her, a medic. She was going to have to learn to deal with it. Then, the floor gave way. Again, she screamed as she fell through the air towards the ground. When Dr.D made his offer she punctuated her screams with a howled 'IF YOU GET ME OUT OF THESE THINGS AND SAVE ME'' before closing her eyes so she couldn't see the ground...

Famine
This man was powerful, he was evil and he was irritating. Famine was thankful that his life had regained purpose and that he had another chance but he didn't need to be treated like this. The minions didn't bug him, in fact he thought that he should get himself a green clad group of people. He looked at the other memebers of the cell. ''Not these guys though'' he mused. Then, he was tossed from the transport into nothingness. He looked up at the transport that was shrinking by the second. He listened to Dr.Destruction's rant and called ''Set me free and I will'' hoping he could be heard.

The Swordsman
He sat in silence as he listened to the strange metal man's rant. He didn't care that this was the most notorious villain in Star City, let alone the world. All he cared about was getting these Nullifers off and continuing his alien hunt. When the clay substance was put on the devices a smile played on his lips. Then, he began to fall and Dr.Destruction laid his cards on the table. The Swordsman respected this man's directness and shouted upwards ''As you wish'' before waiting for his fate to be decided.

Once you agree, a small light begins to flash from within the plastic explosive and it detonates, shattering the nullifiers. You feel your strength come flooding back as you crash into the roof of the prison facility. Luckily for you, the roof was made of tin, and softened the fall somewhat meaning those without regeneration get away with nothing more than a few bruises. After you land, 4 boxes land with you that contain your equipment. Dr.Destruction must've got them from the M'Buna as well. Looking around you see that this facility has a large, 12 foot tall outer fence, one gate, a watchtower and a barracks as well as the main building you landed on.
Four guards stand in the courtyard and are taken aback by your sudden entrance. They are drones, half organic and half human, the aliens made these as foot soldiers by experimenting with captives. You don't have time to think about this now as it's time to get to work
