Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself! I am a complete newbie in rpg's and also in playing them online ofcourse. My friends are not that interested in the whole experience, that's why I try to find it online Since I really want to learn, any tips/tricks or help is more than welcome!

Tip #1: Never eat spinach with a stranger!

Tip #2: Don't pee into the wind!

Tip #3: Don't feed the Grugg! (But, do absolutely LOVE the Grugg!)

And now for something we hope you'll really like!

As far as gaming goes, if you're looking for something in which there aren't a whole heap of gaming "rules" to keep up with and such, the Freeform gaming area is probably for you... Just dream yourself up a character, pop in, and RP your little heart out. Boo Boo and myself are currently having a rather enjoyable interaction in a thread called The Bleeding Lute, for example.

Now, if you're looking for something with a little more structure, something a little more rules based, you'll wanna scour the recruitment threads and see who's looking for players and what "flavor" game you might wanna participate in. We've got stuff from Brom's Cyberpunk game (which I see you've already asked about) to straight on, good ol D&D. My advice for playing rules based games, though, especially if you haven't had any experience in character creation and/or playing , at all, is to do a little research... Invoke the Google and read up on various systems, learn how characters are created, etc....Or, you know, ask one of us Innmates! We're all pretty friendly and happy (if a little insane) and I think you'll find, we're all pretty darn eager to help out where we can!

Oxxia Welcome to the Inn. I see Eol greeted you. That is what the towel is for.

Others have already given you some good tips. I too am new and things can seem overwhelming at first. I know! But start out slow and like Eol said you are welcome to wander into The Bleeding Lute RP. It is just an Inn basically where you can bring out a fantasy style character and interact. Read some of what Eol and I have done for an idea.

The basic rules in Free-form RP which is what the Lute is: State what your character is doing and leave any actions of the other Players to state their own actions. Inn Staff (NPCs like the bartender and wait staff) are open for you to state normal actions for them. Like bringing you drink and food if you order it.

But your welcome to come on in if you like. We promise to take it easy on you and help you along. This place is good and filled with good people who will help you if you just ask.
