I have recently come across a new rule system for tabletop games known as Numenera: The Ninth World. I have spent a few days now going over rules, creating characters, and learning how things work. I feel confident enough to attempt running a game now and have a pre gen adventure to take players through. It will be a learning experience for everyone, and hopefully I can get some people in to this new system.
The setting takes place just over a billion years in the future. Including Earth, 8 civilizations have risen and fallen, leaving behind milennias worth of technology and history. Those living in the Ninth World spend their time in the relative safety of the few civilized lands on the now Super Continent that makes up Earth's landmass. The brave few who go out and explore ancient and derelict structures and ruins are the ones who find new Numenera. Some even gain the skill to create their own Numenera devices for either pesonal or community use.
Character creation is relatively simple. The long part of it is making the 3 decisions about your character. [Name] is a [Adjective] [Noun] who [Verb]. This is the basis for your character. Noun covers your class, of which there are 6 to choose from. The adjective describes your character, and alters some of your skills and abilities. These things include Charming, Tough, Forward Thinking, etc. The Verb adds another special ability to your class, that gains power as you level up. Some examples include Bears a Halo of Flame, Rages, Talks to Machines, etc.
If this sounds interesting to anyone, I'm looking for 4-6 players. I'm more than willing to help with character creation and will provide the book needed to make your character in a Google Drive Link down below here.
