Join? Did I join at some point? I can't recall anymore what happened all. those. years. ago. I think something pulled me in here, but I can't really pinpoint what it was. Was our beloved webmaster? Or was it Alacrity or Bromern or Eol or or or... Or was it the spirit of the place that I somehow caught the scent of and followed in? Whatever it was that tricked me in here, it has also stopped me from leaving. And that's a good thing, a wonderful thing really.

Next Summer, if my memore doesn't completely fail me, it'll be 18 years since I first clicked the link in... Google? AltaVista? and ended up in here. It'll also be (or has already been?) 17 years when I joined t_catt11's Meanwhile game and took over Zibli.

Wow... Time sure passes quickly.

I've put this up somewhere already, but....

*fades in*

Like a lot of people, I got here while searching for name generators. Specifically, th elven ones. (They are quite good by the way.)

The second or third day there was a chat room open. I was bored, so I created an account and logged in. Was welcomed by Pit F(r)iend, and an ol' werebear. Made chatting with them an almost daily occurence, as I didn't have anyone irl to talk about DnD, or Magic: The Gathering with. Ody convinced me to start in the posting games. Then I slowly eased into the rest of the site.

Still remember those first months with great fondness. We were just a bit busier then, though I'm told it had nothing on the 'Golden Age'. Alway someone who didn't mind logging in and just passing some time. So thanks again, Ody. And you to Pit, if you're still lurking around here.

(On an unrelated side note, some of these fixes are coming in super handy, Olan. Specifically, the top 30 thread updates, instead of five. Thanks so much for all the hard work.)

*evaporates*

Wanting to hear from more

So nice array of replies but I know there are many more Innmates out there. As a matter of fact I see Philosopher has logged on, so tell us what brought you here the first time Philosopher?

Getting Called Out.

Haha. You caught me. Well, if I’m honest, I’m pretty sure I joined the Inn because of Tek. I’m not sure if he’s around anymore, but, we were close friends in high school, and he introduced me to the forum. I’m pretty sure that’s how it happened. He invited me to play in his volcano campaign. There have been some great ones I’ve had the pleasure of partaking in. (Really wished The Arena had kept going!)

I’ve always loved D&D, and this was a way to play with others that shared the passion. It also hits me right in the author/writer feels. I’ve been busy working on some other projects, and my games never quite bloomed here. Anytime Kitty or Grugg hits me up though, I am resurrected.
