   I will look at those sites and try to get the pdf should be able to 

figure it out ( though I cant figure out why my lines are always two spaces apart help )

i am familar with a point based system I have DMed for more than 30 years now

but of course i have my own complete world and i have to say a lot of the rules are 

modified by me but we basicly play avanaced D & D or like second edition but I sure 

i can get this i mean its all about roll playing and you said you do all the rolls 

anyways looking forward to get my character and start

 Hey man sorry its taken me longer than i thought to get this ready

but i have a pretty good idea what i want to play. I am thinking of a 

Wood Elf Druid with the Circle of the Moon subclass. I also got the 

5e players guide downloaded and found the way the point system works I will

try to get the rest up to you soon as possable i guess i will post my character

right in this thread when done

  I did see that level 3 is the starting level , do you do the hit point rolls 

also about starting equiptment please give me an idea how you guys did 

that also do we get anything to start or do we buy all from the book and if so

how much gold to start

I have part done

   okay first i guess  i will put in the numbers i have and then tell you how i came up with them

to be sure i did it right. Now i dont have a name yet but here is what i have.

 

 Race:    male Wood Elf

 Class:  Druid

  Speed  35+

  Level #3

  Circle of the Moon

  at level 2 a druid picks a circle to belong to i choose the circle of the moon this allows me to

  use wild shape as a bonus action rather than an action which from what i read allows me 

  to transform, move, and attack all in same turn also says you can use a bonus action to expend one

  spell slot to regain 1d8 hit points per level o f the spell slot expended and last i can transform into

  any creature up to and including CR 1 

  Proficiency Bouns +2

  Abilities

  Str. 12  +1

  Dex 14 +2

  Con 14  +2

  Int 10  +0

  Wis 16  +3

  Cha 9  -1

I took a +2 on my Dex as an elf so i only bought a 12 at 4 points

I also took a +1 on my wisdom as a wood elf

 so this is what i spent , 4 + 4 + 7 + 2 + 9 + 1 = 27

   Saving Throws

  Str: +1

  Dex: +2

  Con: +2

  Int: +2

  Wis: +5

  Cha: -1

  Book said that Int and Wis where my two speical saves so i added +2 to my Int and Wis

  saving throws i believge that is correct.

  Here is a temporay start to my spells

  cantrips, Poison spray, Resistance. 

  First level: Entangle, Thunder wave, long strider, cure wounds

  Second level: enhance ability, Flame blade

  thats it so far please tell me what else i need besides figuring equiptment 

  so i can get AC and let me know how you do hit points

Druids are cool

The Druid looks pretty good.  Love druids.

HP - Max at first level and then you can roll or I would suggest take the auto 5 on the roll. 

Money - Max for first level +50.  Assume you can get just about any basic gear. 

I'll PM you with some questions about fitting you into the campaign.

Had a glitch had to reprint all again

  Hey Nomad D2 here is a pretty complete character there are a couple

of things still need flushing out I will pm you with some background ideas

 and we can figure a way to get us in really looking forward to my first post

 and I hope when you hear my ideas you dont think I to far out there

  So from what you said about starting money and stuff I took the max for a druid 80gp

and added the 50 = 130gp i spent close to 100 of it the rest you see in my pouch under equiptment

  According to the book at str. 12 my carry weight = 180lbs I am carrying aprox 115lbs

  Think I got most everything I really need to get going there are a couple things I still need 

  to flush our but I will pm you Nomad D2 with some ideas for background and getting into game

thanks for the welcome

Yea Al I think its gonna be great to play as a player again its actually been awhile for me in that reswpect. Even when times where getting kind of rough there we had a few not so great years this is the first computer I have managed to get since i played in Trilogy but once I had it set up and going one of the first things I did was come check out the Inn 

 But I have been playing, D&D has actually been one of the good things in my life even when things seemed crazy i still always had my monthly pen and paper game with Jess and her old man Jay and I taught my oldest grandson the four of us would play i always DMed but those times where always a resprite from whatever else was going on around us at the time those where always good times. 

 Seeing the way the new 5e is they really did simplify the game some even though we kinda like the old versions in a way my game is sorta based on the AD&D books with some other versions throw in actually my game is almost entirely a home brew game I wrote a ton of my own rules like for magic we use a point system, and real big on the out door survival guide and the use of and gaining of skills also using a point system and a lot more things we do , but my entire world is of my own manufacture, we dont play on any of the realms we play on a planet I created i have maps from the world size to the continents the whole thing i even wrote a creation story as to how and why the planet existed how it was created. Anyways I think it kinda shows that i like to write i sat down and wrote a 9 page background for my druid here before i realized i was going to be picking a background from the book although i did manage to mesh the two pretty good 

 yea im kinda long winded here But I look forward to starting to post and I think that will be real soon i think we have worked out a way for us all to meet but i still have to hear from Nomad for finalizing. Its great to be here again talk to you again soon
