Olan's thoughts for this strip:
First off, please let me say thanks to all of our regular Loaded Dice readers - we are back up above a thousand of you! While I fully realize that while the big webcomics - the Penny Arcades, XKCDs, and PVPs of the world - would hardly notice an addition or subtraction of a thousand readers, it's a huge deal to me. To think that there are that many actual people taking a chunk of their time to follow this story is humbling. Thank you!

Today's strip gives us a pretty standard slice of "tactics" from Brad and Ray. After all, if the DM has introduced a monster, he wants you to kill it, right? And if you can just run up and smack it, all the better.

Right?

Brittany's thoughts for this strip:
GOSH, I have such a nerd-crush on Ray! Seriously. I mean, LOOK at that whiny expression! It's adorable! Other than that, I have to say that I'm rather proud of this strip in general. I think it's my best one so far. Steve looks a little wonky here and there, but over all? Yup, I'm proud of it.

Script for this strip:
Steve (narrator): "The movement you saw is two misshapen beast men, who stand over a wounded man who appears to be pleading for his life."

Tim: "Beast men? What do you mean?"
Steve: "Well, they look like they could be part dog, or perhaps hyena."

Rich: "So... they are probably gnolls?"

Steve: "Knowledge check... you have a pretty good idea of what a gnoll looks like. These don't look like members of a species, really... more like somebody mixed up parts of a couple of different creatures."
Ray: "So you're just making crap up to say that we didn't guess your monster."
Steve: "Again with the antagonism?"
Amy: "Hush, Ray. Guys, what's the plan? We need to distract..."

Aranion: " Aaaaaaaa!!!"

Faustus: "Chaaaarge!"

Tim: "Or, Brad and Ray can just charge in half cocked."

Rich: "Big surprise, there."
