First post in
Well I posted my intro for DHarem. Hope it is suitable. I tried to describe him and give a little bit of his mannerisms but more will come in time.
I did take a liberty with the 'wine'. I am referring to a wine made in the Deckie Community here of course and not from Deckie itself. If this is inappropriate then let me know and I can alter my post.
To all you other people out there, come on still have room for some players here. Join up now! This promises to be a fun game.

Yay!
Take as many liberties as you wish. Anything that doesn't work I'll take you up on, but taking liberties with things just makes the world better.
So a bit of backstory:
Deckie Wine was originally, on Deck, made from the fermented leaves of the Root plant. The flavour was deep, bittersweet.
The descendants that came to Anchor, finding no Roots (as they don't grow on Anchor) managed to find a perfectly serviceable plant called Timoa, and used the leaves to make wine. They found to their pleasure that it was very similar, and so they took up winemaking once more.
Ale, lager and the other beers of Anchor are made from grass seeds (this makes sense. If you don't think it does, I can just say it's magical grass, and that explains everything. xD )
NOTE: The only animal on Anchor that is the same as on Earth is the human, and the only plant that's the same is grass.
Just like the only metal the same is Ferrum.
Rocks don't really have names, but there are lots of types of various colours and densities. But I suspect geology isn't the main concern of the players ^^

Well you never know...
Hehe, don't be so sure. I once threw in some relevant Dungeoneering checks about types of stone in an adventure I DMed, once.
Anyway, I've posted the next part.

M'k
If you'll excuse, Mysterion, Celtia is the one to advance the plotline here :p
EDIT: Aaaaah yes, there IS another metal from Earth. A natural alloy, Electrum, which you all should know ^^ On Anchor they haven't managed to separate the gold and silver so it's just another metal for them.

Quote: Okay, before I reply I need a couple of quick pieces of information. Firstly, if my character knows, why a Duel of Knowledge may be dangerous. And Secondly, how much 500 Electrum roughly is. I imagine a princely sum for such a simple task, but I'm unsure.
P.S. Probably could mention it all in the Q&A Thread for Mysterion's benefit.
1) A Duel of Knowledge isn't dangerous in any way. It's literally a debate on who-knows-the-most. :p Which is what should scare the group the most, as there is no reason for the duel to NEED "guards".
2) 500 Electrum... well, a regular longsword is worth about 200. That said, most people couldn't afford one, so this IS quite a big sum in pauper terms. In adventurer terms, it's just above average pay for a task, but this isn't anything big or hard. So Varis should be quite worried by the fact that the councillor is giving that much for a simple task.

hmm
No problem with Varis advancing the story, that is what the leader if for right?
Will try to keep all this info about this strange world in mind for posts later but if I make a mistake let me know and I will amend.

Heh
The cheese was a semi-mistake, as I hadn't thought of it... and have worked around it by having mushroom "cheese". xD

I *hope* there wasn't a double entendre somewhere there. -_-'
In other news though, interesting looks into the world. Also, whether the check was necessary or not, I wanted to put it in, more or less just in case. ^^'
Also, I hope I don't take the spotlight from MYsterion too often, leader or not. He's technically the smart one *and* the strong/fighter one of us two. ^_^'

No worries as long as you two don't take off and leave me behind in the posting. I may be slow but I try and check the site each day. I will try to keep up.

a little liberty
Ok I took a little liberty there with our Cs meeting Celtia... I hope you dont mind. I tried not to portray your character in a bad way, and hope I succeeded. Just thought it would be a nice touch.
If you dont like it let me know and I can remove it.

Wood
Just a quick note: on Anchor there are three types of trees.
-Burntree: Burnwood is only good for burning, but the trees have very tasty brown fruits. Look very shrivelled.
-Hardtree: Used for buildings, and hard weapons.
-Botree: Used for bows, as it's tough and flexible. The sap is also used for mead.

No worries, Mysterion, if anything, I love the little inserted backstory! Anyway, I've put up my next post. ^^'

Stuff
Time is different: the Tithuanans have some sort of bizarre system. One is the beginning of the day, Two is before lunchtime, Three is after lunchtime and Four is the end of most people's working day.
So the team has about 8 or 9 hours ahead of them to do various things.
Oh, and hooray for the Duel of Knowledge: it'll give me a chance to expose various plot and world-related info ^^

Interesting, and good news.
Hm, so not an assassin after all?
Anyway, on a different note, though I have already mentioned such to Darren: I may have a new player interested in the game, and a friend of mine in real life.
